Mayor Joe Hogsett honors 2022 Mayor's Community

Service Awardees

Award recognizes Indianapolis residents for commitment to community service

An Indianapolis tradition for nearly 30 years, the award recognizes and honors community members who volunteer their time and talents towards the betterment of Indianapolis and those who call it home.

The 2022 awards are the fourth round presented by Mayor Hogsett and recognize volunteers who have completed their service between April 2021 and November 2022. The Mayor's Community Service Awards were first introduced in 1992 by former Mayor Stephen Goldsmith.

On December 5, 2022, Mayor Hogsett recognized award recipients at a special ceremony at the Indianapolis Artsgarden. Following tradition, each recipient's name will be engraved on individual bricks and added to the Mayor's Volunteer Plaza located in the 11th Street Admiral Spruance Basin on the Indianapolis Canal Walk.

Indianapolis-Marion County Residents can be nominated in one of the following categories: Arts, Education, Business, Faith-Based Organizations, Accessibility and Inclusion, Elderly, Health Care, Media, Neighborhood, Philanthropy, Sports, and Youth Services.
